The short answer
The missing item is the Unlock-ToolKit, not a license called “piracy” or a generic device license. The resolved launch-version player discussion gives this route:
- Open Gozilla Fairfox.
- Go to the Binotaro tools and upgrades area.
- Buy the Unlock-ToolKit.
- Receive the installation media through the game's delivery or mail flow.
- Install the application on the shop computer.
- Use it on an eligible reprogramming job.
Step by step
1. Confirm that the job needs reprogramming
Read the active order and the Notebook before buying anything. Hacking or reprogramming is different from replacing a broken component, cleaning a dirty part, or installing device firmware.
If the task only needs a normal part or license, the Unlock-ToolKit will not replace that requirement.
2. Buy the Unlock-ToolKit
Use the in-game browser and open Gozilla Fairfox. The resolved player report points to the Binotaro tools and upgrades area. Look for the exact Unlock-ToolKit wording in your current English build.
This is why searching the ordinary license list can fail: the unlock is sold as software/tool progression rather than a standard device category.
3. Complete the delivery and installation flow
After purchasing, do not expect the ability to appear instantly at the workbench. Complete the mail or delivery step, take the installation media, and install the application on the shop computer.
If you miss the notification, open mail directly. The developer's August 8 notice confirms a launch-build email-notification issue.
4. Reopen the eligible job
Return to the order or supported device after installation. Confirm that the new reprogramming action is visible, complete it, and recheck the Notebook before reassembly or shipment.
Steam's official achievement list includes Hacking 101 and 11001, confirming that reprogramming is a tracked game activity. The achievement list does not define every supported device, so it should not be used as a compatibility table.
5. Recognize the firmware exception
If the device is Guitar Legend or MyPod and the problem is a firmware update, stop buying unrelated licenses or software. The official known-issues notice lists a firmware problem for those devices.
Use the known-issues guide to check the dated status. A normal missing-tool problem and an acknowledged firmware bug require different next steps.
Quick diagnosis
| Symptom | Check next | |---|---| | Cannot find a piracy or hacking license | Look for Unlock-ToolKit under Binotaro tools/upgrades | | Purchased toolkit, no application visible | Complete delivery/mail and install the software on the computer | | Application installed, no action on one device | Confirm that the job actually supports reprogramming | | Guitar Legend or MyPod firmware will not update | Check the official known issue; do not buy more software as a fix | | Achievement did not appear | Verify a completed eligible reprogramming action before treating it as a bug |
What not to assume
- There is no verified ordinary license named “piracy license” in the route used here.
- Buying the toolkit is not the same as installing its application.
- Reprogramming support is not confirmed for every device.
- More upgrades do not fix the acknowledged Guitar Legend and MyPod firmware issue.
- Achievement percentages are not search volume or proof of a universal bug.
