The short answer
Buy the game for Windows or Apple-silicon macOS only if your system meets the official minimum below. Steam Deck and Linux are currently an unofficial Proton path, not a supported native release. Consoles and mobile are possible future ports, not announced products.

1. Check the Windows minimum

The official page publishes a minimum, not a measured performance target. Meeting it does not prove a specific frame rate or ultrawide experience.
2. Check the macOS minimum

The official support article explicitly says Intel-based Macs are not supported. An older Intel Mac meeting the memory and storage numbers still falls outside the supported configuration.
3. Understand Steam Deck and Linux support
ReStory does not currently have official Linux or Steam Deck support. The developer’s system-requirements page says the Windows build should be playable through Proton and points players to the Windows requirements.
That wording matters: “should be playable” is not the same as a native Linux build, an official Deck verification badge, or a promise that every controller and display issue is solved. The current known-issues page also lists partial controller support.
4. Check PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and mobile
The official support page says the team is exploring possible ports, but it does not announce a release for:
- PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5;
- Xbox One or Xbox Series consoles;
- Nintendo Switch or a successor platform;
- iOS or Android.
Do not treat a store placeholder, fan wiki, or search snippet as a release announcement. Check the official Steam news or developer support page for changes.
5. Check language support separately
The Steam store currently lists interface and subtitle support for English, French, German, Spanish from Spain, Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, and Simplified Chinese. Audio language is a separate store field; do not assume every listed text language includes dubbed voices.
What not to assume
- Minimum requirements do not guarantee a fixed frame rate or resolution.
- Proton playability is not official Steam Deck or Linux support.
- Intel Macs are not included in the official macOS minimum.
- “Exploring ports” is not a console or mobile release date.
- Storage needs can change with later patches; recheck the official listing before purchase.
